I was dispatched non-emergent to a female patient expressing intent to harm herself or others. Upon arrival, the patient was found in her room stating she intended to kill herself. My partner and I assisted the patient onto a stretcher and secured her with safety straps. At that time, the patient still had her purse in her possession.

During transport to the mental health center, the patient attempted to use the purse straps to harm herself. I removed the purse to prevent further risk. While in the back of the unit, the patient made statements indicating suicidal ideation.

Upon arrival at the mental health center, the patient was immediately handed over to the nursing staff. She then directed a statement toward the staff, indicating continued intent to harm herself, reinforcing the need for ongoing supervision and care.
